Hear from our team

What does a typical day or week look like at Oxygen?

Most weeks begin with internal catch-ups with your line manager to check-in on the week ahead before we convene as a whole team to prioritise our tasks. As the week progresses, you can expect to attend client meetings each day and work on your projects - whether that's parliamentary engagement, supporting patient groups, or directly driving health policy change.

What type of clients does Oxygen work with?

We work with big pharma including: Bayer, CSL Berhing, Takeda, Ipsen, Janssen, UCB, Kyowa Kirin, Merck, and Daiichi Sankyo. We also work with smaller biotech companies such as: Alnylam, Krystal Biotech, Menarini Stemline, and Argenx.

Are there opportunities to represent the company at external events and in Parliament?

There are plenty of opportunities to visit Parliament, attend external events, client meetings, stakeholder events, and Conservative and Labour Party Conferences.

What learning and professional development opportunities are available to your employees?

Oxygen Strategy welcomes all new starters with a comprehensive induction and training programme around government affairs, current policy, market access and regulatory practices, and our bespoke principles and ways of working. Tailored internal and external training and senior-level mentorship is offered to all at Oxygen, as fundamental parts of our commitment to personal development. As a member of the Oxygen team with your own unique expertise, you'll also have the opportunity to upskill your colleagues on what you're truly passionate about.

Are there any opportunities for team building?

There’s a great team spirit at Oxygen with a variety of online catch-ups throughout the work week, including craft sessions, lunchtime energiser sessions, plus an opportunity to chat to colleagues and enjoy coffee and cake on expenses. We also have a monthly ‘lunch and learn’ where team members share areas of their work to the wider group over lunch.

We also host a handful of team social days throughout the year - with experiences including a visit to an escape room, a team art class, and boating on the river in Oxford with lunch thrown in - so there’s plenty of team building going on!

What is your favourite office tradition and what are the workplace benefits?

Every Friday we hold an R&R – ‘Reward and Recognition’ session where there’s a friendly pitch against each other to win a ‘golden star’ for the work we’ve done that week. Each golden star is worth £10 and can be redeemed as an online voucher or banked up to the value of £500 to spend online. Hone your pitch to win!

What does hybrid working involve?

We have staff working from home in the North, the South, and the Midlands as well as those who are London-based. London-based staff also work from home or use our London office. Staff who work remotely have plenty of opportunities to visit the office for work or client meetings.

We also strive to have a 9-5 policy and finish at 4pm on a Friday.

What is the remuneration package and how does it compare to other PA agencies in your sector?

We have a transparent pay scale policy that is market-tested every year to make sure we are competitive, with two salary reviews a year and an annual bonus scheme. As we are a small boutique agency with a leading team of experts in a niche market, there are opportunities to progress quickly with commensurate pay rises to match your performance.
